Apprendre le ''attend'' auto controle a votre chien - teaching ''wait'' to your dog

english will follow

Rien !

People say JRT are hyper actif and crazy, hard to train, hard headed etc...  and I ear people say they need 2 hours of exercise per day..... NON they are not hyper active or crazy, they need to be stimulated mentally and physically, and most of all teach them to relax and reinforce when they are relaxing. If you give them 2 hours per day they will want 3h and so on. Instead teach him to relax, and reinforce when he is doing nothing. And with R+ its so easy see my videos

thank you Jean Lessard for this                                                                                                                                              ''someone ask me about a dog '' is he head strong??

My response....... I insist and I beleve it ( remember that I trained, seals, lynx, cougars and chickens, bears, and camel)
'' There is no dog that are head strong. They are just good or bad trainers......''
Moral: lern to train. Its not  complicated: its technique. And it as nothing to do with fermness at all.

********************************************************************************

hello here is Gretel after two or three practice sessions she is really good

http://youtu.be/8A7IkYzNr-8

I start by putting the bowl on the floor, holding it and say nothing, if the dog goes to the bowl, I lift de bowl, the dog will sit down, I start from the beginning, and do that until the dog do not go to the bowl and sits and looks at me, I wait a few seconds at the beginning and say ''ok'' or '''go''  I increase the time slowly. When the dog no longer goes to the bowl you can add the word you want I say '' wait''. As you see in the video I say different words before saying ok, it will make the wait even stronger, he is not supposed to touch the bowl before you have not said '' ok'' you always stand ready to lift  the bowl at the beginning and do not skip a step, if the dog wants to go to the bowl before you say ok, its because you are going to fast, go back a little and do it again, do not go to fast and let the dog think of what he as to do and dont say NO just lift the bowl if the dog goes to it, be patient, done the right way its really not long before he will wait. Dont add other words before the dog is really strong ont he wait command, I also play with the crate door but dont do this until the dog is really strong and do not move, sometimes I say ok the door open and sometimes the door close. And what I want also is that the dog looks at me when I say wait.

Working with you dog createds a good relation of trust and respect.

The wait teached that way with food,  you can apply it everywhere like at  the door. The wait could save your dog's life.

have fun :)
